Coriander seeds in the suribachi.

The suribachi is a Japanese version of a mortar. I have a mortar as well, but I love the suribachi for the grooves you can see inside, which makes it easier to grind things like these coriander seeds. In a mortar you pound, and a suribachi you grind - sometimes the grinding brings out the best flavours.
