I have some odd things in my kitchen, but nothing like this. Its owner tells me that it's supposed to be a simultaneous apple peeler and corer; I'll leave it up to you to decide how plausible that is.

An apple slinky machine! I dunno about labour saving - but brilliant for persuading small people to eat apple - the slender spiral of apple is too tempting to resist.
Lovely photo - it makes what is an every day object for me look somehow glamorous and mysterious.

I'm told it makes interesting corkscrews in the middle of the apple, but does a very average job of both peeling and coring.
*grins* I don't know that 'glamorous' is the word I'd use - I found it kind of ominous myself!
