Fruit 4

Fruit 4

Honeydew, halved.

Yes, we cut into Monday's melon. Not green at all on the inside, is it. Now I look at all of it, I think I've seen melons like this referred to as 'Champagne melons' before. It's a little sweeter than a honeydew and lighter in taste, without the cool freshness of the honeydews I'm used to. It's still nice - and as you can see, very juicy.

Fruit 1

Fruit 1

Honeydew melon.

Yes, it really is that colour, believe it or not. I saw it in all its yellow, knobbly glory at the fruit shop and couldn't resist bringing it home. I'm looking forward to cutting into it - I'm half expecting to find that it's not a honeydew at all, but some strange seedy lumpy thing. Just imagine the colour contrast if it turns out to really be a honeydew - bright yellow rind against cool green melon. Hopefully I'll get a picture before we eat it all.
