Escape 6
Roadtrip getaway.
Nothing says roadtrip quite like breaking down at midday in 30+ degree heat. As you can tell, this photo was shot in motion, as we merrily drove past. Lest you think us heartless, the NRMA emergency phone wasn't far.

Escape 5
Down the front steps.
It doesn't seem like much, does it. But at the moment, the idea of being able to go down those steps and go out without worrying or hurting seems like paradise and freedom itself. I'm dreaming of the chance to go walking around my pretty new suburb. Hells, I'd even be happy with wheeling.

Escape 4
The Interloper escapes reality with the Playstation.
Not my best photo ever, but it's been a bad day, and I've not had the chance or the ability to shoot anything better. Our Kiwi houseguest has just moved over here, and is staying with us until he gets a job and can find a place of his own. Of course, the day he go there his laptop died. Unsurprisingly enough, he's been playing a lot of playstation.
Escape 3
Imaginary tropical island.
It's the stereotypical dream - sitting under a palm tree on a deserted tropical island. I'm currently stuck in the house, since my hands and feet will barely let me get around. Maybe tomorrow I'll mix up a daiquiri and see if the change of scenery makes a difference.

Escape 2
Tasty, tasty coffee, beverage of life.
Cafes have kept me sane throughout the last year. The near-daily ritual of leaving the house and sitting in nice, warm light around other people and sipping strong, strong coffee. It grounds me, and calms me, and helps me feel balanced again when pain or frustration is getting me down. I love my coffee.
Escape 1
Airplane overhead, Stanmore.
I love being on planes. Quite apart from the places they take you to, in and of themselves they represent change and excitement to me... and escape, obviously enough.

Well, I'm back
Hands are working a bit better - typing is still painful, but I suspect that's going to be the case for a little while. We've also moved house, and as yet have no net connection at home. I'm reasonably sure I remember where I packed the upload cable for the camera, though.
None of this is excuse enough to avoid having a theme for this week, although the lack of net connection may mean that each day's pictures may be a little late in going up.
In the spirit of ouchiness and hope, though, the theme for the week starting December 7th...
... is ESCAPE
